As part of its national role in promoting environmental awareness and advancing sustainability concepts, The Scientific Center—one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences—signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday with the Environment Public Authority (EPA). The agreement aims to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of environmental protection and the conservation of biodiversity and natural habitats in the State of Kuwait.
This MoU comes in support of national efforts to promote environmental sustainability and strengthen institutional integration between scientific and governmental entities, contributing to raising environmental awareness and fostering a culture of natural resource conservation across various segments of society.
The memorandum seeks to establish a general framework for scientific, technical, and awareness-based cooperation between both parties. This includes developing joint initiatives, exchanging expertise, and implementing awareness and educational programs aligned with Kuwait’s environmental priorities and future vision.
On this occasion, Eng. Musaed Abdulaziz Al-Yaseen, Director General of The Scientific Center, stated: “This memorandum represents an important step toward strengthening institutional partnerships in the environmental field and reflects The Scientific Center’s commitment to its educational and awareness-raising role in supporting environmental protection and biodiversity issues. It also highlights our efforts to leverage the Center’s capabilities in delivering scientific and interactive content that contributes to raising environmental awareness within the community.”
He added that cooperation with the Environment Public Authority reflects both parties’ commitment to joint action in serving national environmental causes and enhancing initiatives that support ecosystem sustainability and promote concepts of environmental responsibility.
For her part, Ms. Nouf Bahbahani, Acting Director General of the Environment Public Authority, affirmed that the signing of the MoU marks an important milestone in strengthening institutional cooperation, integrating roles, and unifying efforts to address environmental issues of national priority. She noted that the memorandum will contribute to the development of joint initiatives and programs with tangible positive impact, as well as strengthening community partnerships in line with the State’s vision to protect the environment and preserve natural resources for present and future generations. She also expressed her sincere appreciation to The Scientific Center’s management for this constructive cooperation and her hope that the memorandum will serve as a launchpad for a sustainable strategic partnership that serves Kuwait and enhances efforts to protect its environment and natural resources.
