Join the Summer Volunteer Program at The Scientific Center, where you can educate visitors about the wonders of science. Engage with visitors, enhance your communication skills, and become part of The Scientific Center community. As a volunteer, you’ll be an ambassador for the center, participating in daily operations in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Join us and make a meaningful impact while growing personally and professionally!
Before indicating your interest in the application form, please read this brief description of volunteering areas in each department at The Scientific Center carefully. Select your preference based on your interests, abilities, and capabilities.
| The Aquarium Department: |
| Volunteers have the opportunity to learn more about coastal and marine habitats and how to interact with them through direct handling of animals. This includes participating in several tasks such as preparing and feeding animals and presenting them to the public. |
| Education and Programs Department: |
| Volunteers in this department act as visitor guides, where they will be trained to explain exhibits in the Discovery Place, interact with some animals in the Aquarium, which helps improve their presentation and speech skills. They also receive visitors at The Scientific Center and answer their inquiries and introduce them to the various services offered by The Scientific Center, encourage them to purchase tickets, and facilitate their entry into the different attractions of The Scientific Center as per its regulations and policies. |
Volunteering Terms :
- The applicant must be a Kuwaiti national.
- Complete the volunteer application form with parental consent.
- The applicant must be the age of 15, 16 and 17.
- To give others the opportunity to participate, if you have previously registered for the Summer Volunteer Program, you will not be able to register again. We invite you to explore and join our other available programs.
- Attend the personal interview at the scheduled time.
- The program is voluntary and does not provide any financial compensation to volunteers.
- The Scientific Center does not provide transportation services for volunteers.
- Comply with the official volunteer uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
- The Scientific Center reserves the right to dismiss any volunteer who violates the work system, or engages in misconduct with visitors, customers, fellow volunteers, or representatives of The Scientific Center, or who is absent without acceptable reasons.
- Registration for the Youth Volunteer Program is online from May 4, 2025 – May 16, 2025, until 11:00 PM only.
- Accepted volunteers will be announced through The Scientific Center’s website using the volunteer’s civil ID number.
- Volunteer hours are on all weekdays according to the schedule that will be announced.
