Eagle Rehabilitation & Release

In collaboration with KFAS and various NGO’s the Aquarium has rehabbed and released Eurasian Eagles and have attached GPS trackers to see how far they travel.
Vulture-TSCK

Vulture Rehabilitation & Release

These rare and majestic creatures migrate through Kuwait annually from Northern Europe to southern Africa. When they are tired and need help, TSCK is the oasis of recovery.

Turtle

Sea Turtle Rehabilitation & Release

The longest running program at the Aquarium. We have been treating and releasing our precious sea turtles for over 25 yrs. Through a KFAS unded grant, the last few years, we were able to attach GPS loggers which have yielded valuable information regarding their migration patterns and the foraging areas.

Desert Snake - TSCK

Snakes Rehabilitation & Release

Each year, many native snakes wander into inhabited areas, and the public will contact us. Most snakes in Kuwait are not poisonous, and we will receive, assess and eventually release them into the preserves where they can live their happy lives in contentment and without getting into trouble!

Sandcat - TSCK

Desert Sand Cat Rehabilitation & Release

TSCK has been involved in the regional conservation through breeding of the Sand Cat since 2015. We release the offspring after they have been successfully weaned into the deserts of Kuwait, where they went extinct and we are bringing them back!

Arabian Foxes Rehabilitation & Release

Our latest initiative in the conservation and breeding program, we will keep you updated on the success of this program. Currently, a pair of rescued Arabian Foxes are on exhibit and we are monitoring them closely!

Breeding Programs

Our Breeding Programs focus on preserving endangered species and promoting biodiversity. By fostering sustainable breeding practices and creating safe habitats, we contribute to the survival of vital marine and terrestrial life. Discover how these initiatives play a key role in conservation and ecological balance.

Seahorse-TSCK

Seahorse Breeding

AQ has been breeding the seahorses for many years.

Hamour

Grouper (Hamour) Breeding

In our latest project, Aquarium department will be initiating the breeding of our local species that are in exhibit in order to have fish collection that are sustainable.

African Penguin

The African Penguin

South African penguins are very difficult to breed in captivity, and at the Aquarium we have an ongoing project to successfully breed them.

Pharaoh Eagle

The Pharaoh Eagle Owl

TSCK has successfully bred this species without a formal breeding program is notable! It could suggest that these owls are highly adaptable in captivity or that environmental conditions are conducive to their breeding even without human intervention.
In the wild, these owls typically breed in remote, rocky areas and seem to thrive in the wilderness. It is great to hear that such conservation efforts are bearing achieved even without structured breeding programs.

Sand Cat

Sand Cat

In 2003 we received a donation Sandcat unknowingly pregnant, she delivered to 3 kittens inside the exhibit, with inexperienced staff the kittens and mother left to raise her small family inside the exhibit.
Meanwhile another female Sandcat delivered multiple times with successful rearing the kittens.
Both parents and their offspring were released back into the wild, one of the protected areas of Kuwait.

Caracal - TSCK

The Caracal

One of the pioneer’s species and iconic medium cats of TSCK. Back in 2000, It’s remarkable that, despite the lack of a formal breeding program, the Caracals successfully mated and produced offspring, showing how adaptable and resilient animals can be in the right conditions, however the inexperience mother refuses weaning that causes the loss of one of its kittens.

The female Carawan delivered another 2 male kittens and this time the mother continues and successful weaning her offsprings.
