The Scientific Center – one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) – concluded its 2026 summer programs following a season filled with educational and training activities and experiences designed for children and youth. The programs contributed to developing participants’ skills and strengthening their passion for science and learning within an interactive environment that combines knowledge with hands-on experience.
The success of this year’s summer programs builds on The Scientific Center’s more than 26 years of experience and leadership in science communication and the promotion of scientific culture since its opening in 2000. The Center continues to play a key role in making science more accessible, engaging, and relevant to different segments of society. As one of KFAS’s centers, it remains committed to supporting knowledge and encouraging future generations to explore, learn, and innovate.
This year’s summer programs included the Scientific Summer Camp, Summer Internship Program, and Volunteer Program, each designed to provide a comprehensive experience tailored to different age groups while contributing to the development of participants’ scientific, practical, and personal skills.
The Scientific Summer Camp, which ran for ten weeks and targeted children aged 6 to 12, offered a diverse range of scientific and interactive activities. These included experiences in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), alongside workshops, creative and sports activities, and field trips. Together, these experiences encouraged participants to explore, experiment, collaborate, and work as a team.
The Summer Internship Program provided participants with an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the working environment at The Scientific Center. Through their involvement in various tasks and activities and their direct interaction with teams across different fields, participants gained practical experience, developed their skills, and acquired new knowledge.
As part of its commitment to promoting a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility among youth, the Volunteer Program provided participants with practical opportunities to contribute to the Center’s activities and programs and engage directly with visitors. The experience helped develop their communication, teamwork, and responsibility skills while reinforcing the values of initiative, giving, and community service.
The General Manager of The Scientific Center, Eng. Musaed Abdulaziz Al-Yaseen, said:

He added:
“The enthusiasm and engagement we witnessed this summer among participants in the Scientific Summer Camp, Summer Internship Program, and Volunteer Program reflect the importance of providing spaces where future generations can learn through experience and practice. We are also proud of the role played by The Scientific Center’s teams in sharing their expertise and knowledge with participants and in fostering the values of responsibility, teamwork, and initiative.”
The Scientific Center affirmed that the success of its summer programs reflects its continued commitment to its mission of making science accessible, promoting scientific culture, and investing in the capabilities of children and youth. Building on more than 25 years of experience, the Center continues to develop its educational and community programs and initiatives to inspire future generations and contribute to building a knowledge- and innovation-driven society.
