The Scientific Center (TSC), a center of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), concluded today the second batch of the “Bader Wayana” Summer Volunteer Program 2026, organized in collaboration with the Public Authority for Minors Affairs (PAMA). The program concluded with a recognition ceremony celebrating the dedication and contributions of the volunteers throughout the program.
The ceremony was attended by Eng. Musaed Al-Yaseen, General Manager of The Scientific Center, and Ms. Alia Al-Saqr, Director General of the Public Authority for Minors Affairs.
Now in its fourth consecutive year since its launch in the summer of 2023, the “Bader Wayana” program continues to achieve remarkable success. This year’s edition welcomed 80 volunteers, divided into 40 participants in July and 40 participants in August, providing them with a comprehensive training and practical experience designed to develop their skills and prepare them for future professional opportunities.
During the ceremony, volunteers were recognized for their outstanding contributions across The Scientific Center’s facilities. Some volunteers supported children’s activities as part of the Summer Camp, while others worked alongside TSC staff in various departments, receiving hands-on training in visitor services, delivering scientific demonstrations, and engaging with the public according to the highest standards of customer service and professionalism.
Following the recognition ceremony, guests toured The Scientific Center’s facilities, where they visited the volunteers’ work locations and observed firsthand the progress participants had achieved throughout the program. The tour highlighted the practical skills they developed through direct training and teamwork, demonstrating the program’s positive impact on building confidence, enhancing capabilities, and preparing young people for future careers.
On this occasion, Eng. Musaed Al-Yaseen, General Manager of The Scientific Center, said:
“We are proud to see the ‘Bader Wayana’ program continue successfully for the fourth consecutive year, creating a tangible impact in developing young people’s skills and promoting a culture of volunteerism. This program reflects our strong belief in investing in youth by providing meaningful hands-on training opportunities that help shape their personalities and equip them with valuable experience. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Public Authority for Minors Affairs for its continued partnership, and to all our volunteers for their commitment and dedication. We look forward to expanding and further developing this initiative in the years ahead.”
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Alia Al-Saqr, Director General of the Public Authority for Minors Affairs, emphasized the importance of the partnership with The Scientific Center in supporting initiatives that empower young people and promote volunteerism.
She expressed her appreciation to The Scientific Center for its continued collaboration in implementing the “Bader Wayana” program, noting that TSC was among the first organizations to join the initiative when it was launched four years ago and has played a significant role in supporting its objectives and ensuring its success.
Ms. Al-Saqr also highlighted that the program has now become part of the Government Family Protection Program, describing the partnership with The Scientific Center as an outstanding model of cooperation between government entities and national institutions in delivering community-focused initiatives and developing young people’s capabilities.
She added that the Authority looks forward to expanding its collaboration with The Scientific Center in the future by launching additional joint initiatives that create a positive community impact and further advance the shared objectives of both organizations.
The “Bader Wayana” Summer Volunteer Program aims to instill a culture of volunteerism among young people, develop their personal and professional skills, and provide them with practical work experience in a real-life environment. The program also promotes responsibility, teamwork, and leadership while preparing a generation of capable national talents committed to serving their community.
The ceremony concluded with the recognition of all volunteers in appreciation of their dedication and commitment throughout the program. Both The Scientific Center and the Public Authority for Minors Affairs reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the “Bader Wayana” partnership, which has become, over the past four years, a leading platform for empowering youth, developing their skills, and strengthening the values of volunteerism and community service.
