Areas of Volunteering:

Before indicating your interest in the application form, please read this brief description of volunteering areas in each department at The Scientific Center carefully. Select your preference based on your interests, abilities, and capabilities.

The Aquarium Department
Volunteers have the opportunity to learn more about coastal, desert and marine habitats and how to interact with them through direct handling of animals. This includes participating in several tasks such as preparing and feeding animals and presenting them to the public.

 

Education and Programs Department

This program aims to promote youth development in science communication and classroom management skills while supporting and enriching TSCK summer programs.

Chosen and accepted volunteers will be placed on an individualized schedule where they will attend their scheduled sessions to complete on-the-job training requirements, which include a minimum of 50 working hours over two weeks, working on:

  • Development of science communication.
  • Mentoring younger participants in science related educational programs.
  • STEAM methodologies and 21st century skills.

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS
  1. The applicant must be a Kuwaiti national.
  2. The applicant must complete the volunteer application form with parental consent.
  3. The applicant must be the age of 15-18
  4. After submitting the application, participants will be assessed. All volunteers must attend the personal interview at the scheduled time. Successful applicants will be notified after the interview if they have been accepted.
  5. The program is voluntary and does not provide any financial compensation to volunteers.
  6. The Scientific Center does not provide transportation services for volunteers.
  7. The applicant must comply with the official volunteer uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
  8. The Scientific Center reserves the right to dismiss any volunteer who violates the work system or the Scientific Center’s Policies, or engages in misconduct with visitors, customers, fellow volunteers, or who is absent without acceptable reason.
